Bricks Washed

Hi All,

Our bricks were washed last week and I finally managed to take some photos of the whole house today. I couldn't be happier with the quality of workmanship applied to our bricks.

There are only a few spots that I think need touch-ups but I am just being the picky customer that I am!

Here they are.

Here are the parts that I am being super picky with! Please note that PD have not yet 'Quality Inspected' the brickwork so this is just purely myself going over the brickwork with a fine tooth comb.

Slight zig/zag affect in alfresco and front corners.

Bricking complete - Finally!!

It's been just under 4 weeks since bricking started.

They finished yesterday and the house is looking great. The quality of the brick work is superb. It was only one brick layer and a helping hand working on the whole house so even though it took so long we can see the quality and consistency in the work.

We've haven't had the chance to go over the finished brick work with a fine tooth comb but have been monitoring it closely for 4 weeks and we really can't find any mistakes.

Having said that, some outstanding items still remain. Brick overhang, gap over one window and slider. Our SS is already onto it so we're not too concerned.

Brick Work - Progressing

Hi all,

Few photos I managed to 'snap-up' this morning. Brick work is getting there with one half of the house almost complete. The quality is great IMHO.

It's going slow but I am happy to sacrifice time for quality.

Site visit update

Hi everyone,

This week has been quite busy regarding work being done on the house. To name a few we had Roofing, slab repairs, wrapping, plumbing and brick delivery.

So with that in mind we decided to go out for a look this morning. The roofing job is really good. Sarking is installed correctly (thanks to a forum member who gave me the write documents to check this).

We picked up a few issues such as HWS piping in wrong location as we had chosen to move it closer to the rear of the house but nothing major.

Plenty of photos this time around.

Slab Issues - That's better!

After the disappointing repair job applied to our slab last week (Photos), phone calls with our BC, PD's head of construction and finally an on-site meeting our slab has finally been repaired to an acceptable standard.

I am very pleased with the latest repair job. Everything that we requested was done. There were some limitations to how much they could box up the slab but overall I am very happy with the job.

Much better workmanship!

Framing - Walls complete

Wall framing is now complete.

I had a quick look yesterday and took a few photos. Looks like a really clean job and I have only spotted one issue so far (overhang rear at the rear entrance of the garage) but will check it all in more detail Saturday morning.

Brother's site visit

I mentioned a few weeks back that my brother and his fiancé are also building their first home. As I was visiting my parents in Bendigo for the weekend I decided to go on site and check out his build so far.

I was VERY impressed with the quality of work on his slab. JG have really done a top notch job. Here are some photos I took of his site. He is right across a reserve park, providing stunning view.

P.S This is going to be a metal frame house.
