  1. Hi Joe!

How's it all going? Have you been allowed to move in yet?

I've been meaning to ask how much extra you paid for the New Crystal Salt Essa Stone in the kitchen and in the bathrooms?

Also, how much did you pay for the R2.5 Soundscreen insulation in the walls?

    :)

  2. Hi Shannon,

All is well thanks :) Not yet, we're looking at moving in end of August.

The stone bench tops were part of a promotional pack. Standard is Laminex. The promotional pack only included Category 1 bench tops and New Crystal Salt was Cat 2. So we paid for the promotional pack and also paid extra to upgrade to Cat 2 as below.

    - En-suite $378
    - Bathroom $297
    - Kitchen $2592 (island and wall)

As for the sound proofing. It was $1200 all up for all the areas we did. They didn't give us a break down though :(

    Hope that helps!

  3. Ahh! That's so annoying! Has everything been going rather smoothly?

We have the promotional pack for cat 1 also, so its good to know the price isn't too unreasonable. However, we just got a quote back on silk finish and its come in at about $5,000.. Which is insane!

Sound proofing is very reasonable! Definitely helps, thanks!!

Oh, actually! Do you also remember how much you paid for the low iron/starfire glass splash back?

    1. I wouldn't say smoothly but it's going which is the main thing :P

Yea cupboard upgrades we skipped. It was just too expensive. Some people spend 10's of thousands on their kitchens just in upgrades.

It was about $1500 with the fire proofing. We also got a credit from the promotion cause it included Cat 1 tiled splash back.

  4. Haha yes, that is definitely a bonus!

Did you upgrade any of your appliances or were they over the top as well?

I've noticed that some of the pricing is just ridiculous! I love the glass splashback and was really keen on it until I realised the green glass was included! And then even with the promotion stating you can choose tiles or glass they wont actually give you a credit for the glass to upgrade your tiles which is frustrating!

We were quoted about $5000 just on silk finish and have decided to get it 2 pac'd after handover.

Is there any recommendations you can think of that we should upgrade with PD? I've been scouring your blog for things we may have missed haha.
