Plumbing fit off - 90% complete

Was surprised to see that most of the plumbing fit off was completed today even though the tiler hasn't been back to grout or finish off the tiling.

They will need to come back out again to do the shower rails, mixers, laundry taps etc...

Site visit update

As we do every weekend, we visited our site today.

Much to our surprise, the bricklayer was there! This was great to see but I hate visiting the site when someone is working on it as I always feel bad for hanging around while they are trying to work. Anyway, the bricklayer is lovely and had no problem for us to have a look around. Luckily, as my Fiancé's family was driving down from Bendigo to have a look too!

Here's a quick update on what's happening on site:

- Bricking is progressing (slowly). Quality of workmanship is top notch though!
- Insulation installation has started.
- Many items we raised had been rectified. I.E Facade window changed to correct one.
- Plaster has been delayed till next week due to some outstanding issues from our lock-up inspection

Mostly positive so far, however a few issues we spotted. One that really made me shake my head...

They were kind enough to install some sound proofing under our ducted heater.

Wrong insulation installed to the entry/garage wall. Should be sound proofed.

Now this is the one that really annoyed me. Temporary downpipe was pushed into the house and was pouring water inside near the plaster!! It didn't seem to have splashed or touched the plaster. I told the bricklayers and they fixed it straight away but we're going to have to check the plaster now. This is one I will definitely talk to the SS about.

Non-compliant plumbing. Should be minimum 25 mm cavity behind brickwork.

In-wall plumbing complete

Went past the house this morning and noticed that all the internal wall plumbing has been completed and lock-up crew has started to 'straighten' the walls and do other various jobs like clean up and build the bath HOB.

I noticed that the cold water tap to the fridge space is missing so I will be raising that to the SS. Also, the HWS has not been moved as we requested in the drawings. I think it's mainly because the new location is not possible due to the shower plumbing being on the other side.

Study water points installed. Need to get them moved further to the left as originally requested.

Bulkhead to master bedroom door removed to be raised.

Site visit update

Hi everyone,

This week has been quite busy regarding work being done on the house. To name a few we had Roofing, slab repairs, wrapping, plumbing and brick delivery.

So with that in mind we decided to go out for a look this morning. The roofing job is really good. Sarking is installed correctly (thanks to a forum member who gave me the write documents to check this).

We picked up a few issues such as HWS piping in wrong location as we had chosen to move it closer to the rear of the house but nothing major.

Plenty of photos this time around.

Foundation Inspection

This afternoon @ 3 pm we had our 'pre-pour/foundation' inspection conducted by Darren from Darbecca Pty Ltd.

When we arrived, the slab team were still completing the final touches. The inspector went ahead to inspect the works that have been completed so far. Communication from the Slab Supervisor was very poor. I had text him photos of the damaged pipes this morning and no response. Fortunately, the drain for the laundry that was broken had been temporarily repaired by a plumber as it would have held up the pour. The broken downpipe drain is still to be repaired and the inspector picked up on that and marked it.

Even though most issues were rectified on the spot as the inspector pointed them out (nothing major), we still received a full report from him.

Rememberer my concern about the reduced FL of the house and site drainage? Turns out I was right! Here is what the inspector had to say in the report.

Finally, the exciting part.... Some more photos, enjoy :)
