I don't reckon that the temporary downpipes are going to be very effective if they aren't attached to the stormwater pipes at ground level.
They keep re-attaching them on a daily basis and they either get ripped by someone or because of the wind. 90% of the time they are attached and that's better than most homes in our area I can tell you that much!
